Kenji OHMORI received a BE in mathematical engineering from the University of Tokyo, Japan, in 1969, an MS in electrical engineering and computer science from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1972, and a Dr.Eng in Information Technology from the University of Tokyo in 1983. From 1969 to 1985, he was with The Central Research Laboratory, NEC, Kanagawa, Japan, where he was engaged in research of multi-processor computer architecture, computer-aided design machines and an object-oriented language. From 1985 to 2000, he was a professor of the Department of Industrial and System Engineering, Hosei University. Since 2000, he has been the founding dean and professor of the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences, Hosei University.

His current research areas include computer architecture, computer-aided design, intelligent computing, genetic algorithm, image processing, pattern recognition and homotopy.

He is a member of the IEEE Computer Society, the ACM, the Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers, and the Information Processing Society of Japan.

He received a Best Paper Award in 1985 from the Information Processing Society of Japan.
